Hermes add a hot stamped S to their dye stamped s on sale products.

Hermes has for pretty much its entire 160 year plus history had the vaunted reputation of being at the very pinnacle of luxury goods purveyor's.  This position in the market has been achieved through a variety of methods, not least of which has been having customers that represents the cream of any generations society.

Another trick is to firmly differentiate their sale goods from their full priced goods, this equally excellent policy ensures that anyone who looks closely at a sale product can clearly see that it has been purchased at a discount, thereby diminishing it, and ensuring that customers prefer to pay full price for items rather than obtaining them in sales.

In the past Hermes fullfilled this criterea by merely Dye stamping a s in a circle at a random point on a accessory, nearby or on a label on a garment, or under the tongue on a pair of shoes, in the case of the garments the dye could rub of after several washes or dye removal, and with rubbing could come off off leather.

Recently, in the last few seasons and years, Hermes have embossed a very clear and deep 'S' near, next to or under the Hermes Name Embossing in leather goods and Accessories, a mark that is completely indelible, as attempting to remove it would damage both the accessory beyond repair, and due to the proximity in most cases to the Hermes logo, would also damage the precious branding of the item.
