Cesare paciotti decide 'shoe's aren't enough, lets start making pen's too'

The title of the entry pretty much sums it all up really.  It seems that all luxury goods brands in the world have slowly come to the realization that you can brand pretty much anything and everything, then charge exorbidant markups, and find a vast number of consumers willing to fork out for your products, whether or not you are actually any good at producing the particular item at the material time.

And Cesare Paciotti have similarly jumped on this bandwagon, after producing glasses, leather accessories, jewellery and luggage, they have now added a line of writing instruments to their repertoire, coming in a selection of 5 sizes, and 5 different type, including big pencil, rollerball, small, revolving and   2 lady models, and all available in white black or pink enamel.  We see here an excellent example of why brands should stick to what they are good at, and diversify slowly, ensuring their products are of the utmost quality at all times, rather than these shoddy pens that look like the type you get given to sign the bill in a hotel bar with the Cesare Paciotti Dagger stuck on the side.

A potted history of Paciotti reads as, old shoe brand, started in 1948, given to the son in 1980, who gave it strong rock and roll music influences, and dark brutal imagery, in a very tasteful italian style, and thats about it really.  The shoes are not amazing, but they do make some quirky designs that work well as styles for the evening, more a brand for womens shoes than Mens, the price points were reasonably fair, but have been increasing far above the rate of inflation, as the brand has been adding these extra lines, and is in a quest to be taken more seriously.

AS for the pens, these johnny come lately bits of tat start from around €150 and have a ceiling of €220.
