Bottega Veneta Announce a new Women's Fragrance, their first, and a range of cosmetics.

Expanding the range of fragrances, which up till now has only included home scents and scent pillows, Bottega Veneta have officially stated that their new fragrance for Women will be available in the latter part of July.  Initially announced tentatively by Head Designer Thomas Maier almost a year and a half ago, teasers have been released over the last few months, leading up to its full release, including the model for the campaign (Nine D'Urso), the company behind the collaboration (Coty Prestige), the expert blender (Michael Almairic from Robertet) and the ingredients (Brazilian pink pepper, Indian Sambac Jasmine, oak moss, patchouli oil and Indian Pathchouli).

The Company Coty Prestige is well known for their Celebrity type fragrances, and most significantly for their transformation of Marc Jacobs perfume brand from a $5m start to a $100m powerhouse, in fact a press statement from CEO Bernd Beetz mentioned exactly this success when announcing the new fragrance.  What he did not mention though was that Coty has in fact been working with Bottega for some six years, they are responsible for creating Bottega's range of scented candles and home fragrance, this collaboration therefore represents an expansion rather than a revolution of Bottega and Coty.

Moving onto the perfume itself, packaging is all important in the highly lucrative and multi billion dollar Perfume industry, and Bottega has not disappointed on this score.  Each bottle of Eau De Parfum is made from hand blown Murano Glass, and is available in strictly limited numbers at Bottega Veneta Boutiques only, priced at £250 for a 100 ml bottle, this version is the headline star.  The more sensibly priced Eau De Toilette will be in the same shape of attractive bottle with leather neck trim, but wil not be made from Murano glass, rather conventional glass, and will be available in 70 ml and 50 ml sizes for £70 and £100 respectively.

Finally the perfume itself?  What can Women who come to buy this expect?  According to an effusive statement by Mr Maier it has something to do with a lonely house on a hill with a summer breeze blowing through it.  the fragrance has been described as a "leathery, Floral Chypre".  We can therefore expect a heady mix of hay, moss, roses, flowers, and the brands signature leather.  As for the other cosmetics briefly mentioned in the title, no information is available as yet, but apparently body creams, lotions and showers gels are set to be released with the same fragrance, and no doubt a Man's fragrance is on the cards in a little while also.
