Established in 1999 by successful former investment Banker Oscar Udeshi, the self named brand is born from his vision of an ideal wardrobe, like so many fashion visionaries before him, the lack of the style that spoke to his personal unique taste pushed him firstly to have clothes made for him, and following endless compliments on his personal style, to consider his launching his own brand, allowing others to share his taste and personal sense of style.
Following 10 years of industry awards, including being named 'rising star designer' at pitti uomo Winter 2001, and several years of being sold in high end department stores around the world, such as London's Harrods, his own department store in Mayfair opened, along with an online store, selling a choice selection of accessories and ready to wear, followed in 2009 by a Milan store, the first in what is certain to be a global expansion of this elegant luxury brand.
Pictured here are Udeshi's 'signature pieces' the evergreen permanent collection that display's the type of style this brand espouses, here we clearly see the style, it is obviously formal, all designed with occasions in mind, but what makes it stand out is the unique little touches of luxury, not too much but enough. Too often 'unique' means a cliche, sticking something on an item of clothing or accessory so a designer can say say 'look it's unique', but when you have for example, a card holder which seamlessly bonds shagreen to suede, it is difficult to criticise as anything other than unique.
It is this spirit which has seen, and will no doubt continue to see the brand go from strength to strength. Stand-out piece in the collection? It has to be the Astrakhan collar coat, naturally a material one would think of being used only by a plutocrat, big heavy astrakhan collar's are the norm, unwearable by any-one under the age of 50, Mr Udeshi has successfully bonded a slim line of Astrakhan to the collar of this over-coat, which does not exceed the line of the lapel, in fact, unless you look closely ou would miss it, no doubt it's intended purpose, true stealth wealth in action.
