Chanel Chromatic Mens and Ladies watches, new line with a new Material.

Chanel watches are another brand which have managed to rise above the slightly tacky image of most designer watch brands, a subject we have been discussing much here recently, mentioning for example Hermes excellent contribution to Horology, and Louis Vuitton's exemplary watch-making credentials.  Chanel have also detached themselves from the slightly tacky plasticky quartz watch image too often associated with a brand better known for producing luxury goods, It's J12 collection produced some very significant horological landmarks, and even it's jewellery based 'Premiere' range manages to be notable.

Now Chanel Have produced a new addition to its J12 range, and it is again a landmark, more so with this particular edition, as rather than merely being a new design, or movement, this wristwatch utilises a completely new material, created by Chanel, and for Chanel.  The material, which is known as Titanium Ceramic, add's Titanium to Ceramic at the moulding phase, a highly technically intensive process, and additionally uses a diamond powder polishing process to provide an extra resistant shine.

What this means for those who might decide to purchase this watch, is that they will have on their wrist a  highly scratch resistant material, the entire body of which is almost as hard as a sapphire.  These watches are available now from Chanel in mens and ladies versions, and start from £4000.
