Louis Vuitton launch into haute joaillerie with a new Place Vendome store.

New from Louis Vuitton comes yet another step towards total luxury supremacy, and also another step towards being a top tier brand in every possible sense of the concept, last week saw the opening of a brand new store on the place vendome, the historic centre of the jewellery district in Paris, and within this store will be exclusively Louis Vuitton's new High Jewellery collections, pieces so exquisite and fine they propel   LV instantly into the rarified atmosphere of the Haute Joaillerie world, already occupied for some 80 years by the likes of Chanel.

Although the video above is entirely in french, the vision of Louis Vuitton is clear, a collection of the finest quality jewellery, in the tradition of high jewellery that Paris is Famous for, the collections include at present the Place Vendome collection, which is an intricate selection of pieces setting out a framework of diamonds, clear and yellow, to evoke the sense of the city of light, and using a specialised star shaped diamond, the Champs elyssee collection, a snaking collection of necklaces and rings using diamonds and Red Spinel, the Jardin collection, which evokes the gardens of paris, using columbian emeralds and diamonds, and the fontaine collection, inspired by the fountains of the palace of versailles, using huge sapphires and fountains of diamonds.
