Leica's relationship with Japan and Japanese consumers is to say the least an enthusiastic one, Japan provides a seemingly endless supply of excited consumers always ready to snap up their creations, no matter how outlandish or excessive, in honour of this Leica have made several concessions, such as pop-up stores, the largest Leica stand-alone stores worldwide, and a slew of exclusive models dedicated to the land of the rising sun.
To commemorate their latest Leica store, recently opened in the SOGO department store in Yokohama, Leica will be launching an exclusive Yokohama edition X2 camera, which will be launched at the start of July, in a strictly limited run of only 30 cameras. The limited edition will feature some attractive cosmetic details, such a a lizard leather body, matching strap and camera protector, and special gift case,
The Leica Yokohama wil cost a rather impressive £32,000, and the Yokohama store have already started accepting pre-orders for the camera, so move fast if you are interested.
