Peter Saville 80th Anniversary Logoless Polo's For Lacoste.

Peter Saville, the Manchester born graphic artist famous for his work on the Factory Records Album sleeves in the 1980's and 1990's, has been commissioned by Lacoste to produce an ultra limited edition series of Polo shirts to commemorate their 80th anniversary, just another in the myriad of special limited edition's fro Lacoste's 80th.

Peter Saville seems to have been inspired by the 'no logo' trend which has emerged over the last year or so, as we have seen a range of products from Selfridges this year produced without logo's, and Lousi Vuitton produced a no logo range which was immensly popular in China.  With this in mind, he has produced 80 one of a kind shirts for men, and 80 one of a kind shirts for Women, all in the Lacoste size 4, which is essentially a smal or 40" chest.

Each shirt has either an artistic rendition of the Lacoste crocodile, such as an outline or even a smudged outline, or, no crocodile, some have a single green dot, some have erratic squiggles, geometric dots, but each one is unique, and therefore a collectors item in its own right.

The 160 one-of-a-kind polo's will be available from November 15th, and will cost £380 per edition, and additionally, there will be a mass produced version, the details of which have not yet been disclosed, will will be in multiple sizings, and will cost £125 per polo shirt.
