A trend which ultra high end design house Hermes started a few years ago is the re-use of cast off quality materials, in the attempt to reduce a brands overall footprint on the environment. This bore fruit at Hermes with their now seasonal "Petit h" collection, and saw some other design houses following suit.
Patagonia, the luxury adventure brand, has also jumped on this bandwagon with its new "Truth to Materials" collection. Made from recycled materials, or alternatively sourced materials. In evidence is minimally processed cashmere and wool, re-using cutting room down into scarves, organic cotton, and recycled polyester.
The capsule collection is available now at Patgonia's online store, with pieces starting from £120.
