Bacardi Launches "Tang" Tea Based Spirit.

Bermuda-based alcohol giant, Bacardi has launched its new beverage – Tang. It is world’s first spirit purely distilled from Chinese green tea leaves.

Tea is one of the most popular drinks across the globe, especially in China. To blend the goodness of tea and refined spring water from France, Bacardi created the alcoholic beverage, Tang. Using a breakthrough technology that releases complex sugars from tea leaves, blending well with a contemporary distillation process, Tang is described to have a smooth and bittersweet flavour of tea. The distinct aroma and taste is ideal to be paired with Cantonese and fusion dishes.

Tang is contained in a beautiful bottle that reflects a mix of Western innovation and Eastern traditions. It features intricate etchings of tea leaves and designs of classic Chinese tea caddies. The golden foliage on it adds to the sophistication of the drink.

The drink is named after the mighty Tang dynasty of China, which was known as the golden period of the country. The spirit symbolises innovation and accomplishments of the era.

Bacardi has created only 2,000 limited edition bottles of Tang, and the first 500 will be individually numbered. Priced at £180, it will be available in Hong Kong beginning May 2015. Soon, these will be available at across select stores internationally.
