Leica really loves it's stores, it loves them so much that it periodically produces special, limited edition cameras to commemorate landmark anniversaries of their locations. Of course, this could merely be due to the fact that whatever limited editions Leica produces are immediately snapped up regardless of cost, but lets not be cynical.
This edition is for the two Hong Kong locations opened back in 2010 in order to give Leica a presence in China, and paving the gateway into the mainland.
The special edition sets of which only 30 sets of the camera will be produced, features a silver chrome body wrapped in Aztec beige leather and comes with a matching leather strap, a camera half case, and a Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH lens. The Leica M-P “Leica Store Hong Kong 5th Anniversary Edition” is now on sale in Hong Kong Leica Stores for approximately £15,000 USD.
