Prada Raw Sunglasses For 2015 Spring/Summer.

Prada Raw is here. It all started on Prada’s spring/summer 2015 runway. It was an homage to craftsmanship and handwork. Miuccia Prada was 'thinking about the ability of the artisan,' and 'of the sort of craftsmanship, not only in fabric but in furniture too, that will be lost. Now we work in a way that is the opposite to what was possible before'.

Stitching and raw edges were central to the catwalk collection. Extraordinary sunglasses were cut from wood and stitched with leather. These showpieces inspired a new take on a previous sensational catwalk capsule collection- Minimal Baroque.

The house’s iconic Minimal Baroque sunglasses collection evolved from the spring/summer 2012 Prada runway. The shocking round with its cut out curlicue temples is now brought into the Raw family hewn from precious wood. The face is cut from Malabar ebony or canelleto walnut wood.

For comfort the wood is layered and crafted by hand. The wood's natural veining emphasises the uniqueness of these frames. No two pairs are the same. Acetate temples are also cut by hand from Prada’s exclusive acetate.

Available now from The Sunglasses Shop For £275 per pair.
