Alexander mcQueen have announced their entrance into the world of perfumery, and they have done so with quite a bang. No novelty bargain basement "50ml EDT" here. They have gone straight for the jugular with a high end, haute perfumery entry.
The first product is titled McQueen Parfum", and contains an unusual mix of Sambac Jasmine, tuberose, ylang-ylang, clove, pink and black pepper and finally, vetiver.
The bottle is quite something to behold, heavy black glass, with a gold base, and gold feathered top, and laquered cap covered with a tiny grid of studs. Each bottle comes with a tiny book, describing the origins of all the ingredients, and even the box is a study in theatrics, with an inner box of black velvet, and and outer of black feather embossed cardboard.
The McQueen Parfum is pure perfume, and will be available exclusively from Harrods for £300 per bottle from March 1st.
