LVMH demonstrate firmly their intention to turn Berluti into 'just another' luxury goods brand, by moving them further and further away from their origins and closer and closer to resembling a goth-Louis Vuitton. This we can say following the announcement of yet another sneaker in the Berluti range.
Any pretence that this is anything more than just another pair of trainers is exactly that, just pretence. With a rubber sole and low top construction, a lay-person would be forgiven for thinking its a pair of Adidas originals. The only nod to Berluti is one, the leather construction of the upper, predictably high quality, and two, the price, starting at £770.
If this is your type of thing then they are available now. But one thing is for sure, this is not your Fathers Berluti.
