Hermes Fine Limoges Porcelain Ashtrays, the smaller sets of 4 seem herder and harder to find.

Hermes Ashtrays are well regarded as fine examples of Limoges porcelain, and with the little details which have always made Hermes stand out, such as 24 carat gold applique paint around the rim of each one, and suede leather bases embossed with an H, and the 'Hermes Paris' logo hand painted on each one, along with designs which vary from simple and elegant iterations of existing Hermes China, through hand painted equestrian designs by renowned artists, to vivid and unusual designs taking up the whole of the ashtray.  These fine ashtrays make perfect corporate gifts, (thoughtful ones too at the high cost of £395 each), and excellent centrepiece talking points for any table.

They have always been available in two different forms, the larger cigar ashtray, a single unit, and the smaller cigarette ashtray, which come in sets of 4 and feature attractive designs on each one, so that they may be displayed as a set together almost like a set of four paintings on the wall.

These smaller sets of four appear to be in the process of being phased out by Hermes, although no official word has been declared on this matter, and speaking to Hermes Staff members is as pointless an excersize as ever.  I have not seen the small set of four available on sale at any Hermes boutique in the United Kingdom, New York or Milan for some considerable time, perhaps a year or more, the Rue St Honore store of course still carries them, but then they always will, however all these locations I mentioned along with the Online Boutique do not stock them anymore.

It would be a great pity if they did discontinue these attractive smaller sets, as they sit very well on a table, and can be more of a talking point than the larger so called 'Cigar' Ashtrays.
