TravelTeq, an alternative to Tumi.

For those of us who love the quality and versatility of tumi's laptop bags, but who are not to keen on its colour options - black or black -, a new Dutch brand TravelTeq may be the thing.  Started by "a group of like minded friends"  who apparently desired to make the ultimate travel luggage, they have been running since 2007, and as of 2010 have their Online store up and running for international orders.

Cutting through all the Hyperbole and self effacing crap on their website, Their strategy seems to be, produce one item of travel luggage very well, sell lots of them, when it is confirmed that there is a target audience and therefore they have perfected that particular item of luggage, move on to the next item.

Currently their range includes a 15" and 17" laptop case, a slimline version of the 15" case and a feminine laptop case, all the laptop cases are entitled the 'trash' range.

What makes their product standout are as always the details.  The case elegantly wraps fine Florentine vachetta leather around a nylon core, allowing for more expandandability than a standard laptop case, therefore you have the hardwearing and flexible nature of nylon, twinned with the luxurious element of fine Italian leather.  on the inside several useful little compartments for mobiles, sunglasses and small documents ensure that you don't find the contents rattling around as is often the case with laptop bags.  and finally on the outside a business card compartment and strap for slipping over the handles of roll on luggage is attractively set off by sturdy leather handles.

Priced from €395, they can be found at http://www.travelteq.com
