Another month, another limited edition IWC wristwatch - Aquitimer Chronograph Jaques Yves Costeau.

Less than 3 weeks ago we wrote about IWC's special Portofino Limited Edition strictly for the asian market. Today we write about yet another limited edition from the Swiss Watch House - the new Jaques Yves Costeau Aquitimer Limited edition chronograph.

I WC has had a relationship with the Jaques Cousteau Foundation streching back some 9 years, and it periodically releases special editions for the foundation to commemorate special events or anniversaries.

This edition has been produced to celebrate the 100 year birthday of Cousteau, although the daring french mariner and deep sea explorer died in 1997, he continues to have his spirit live on through the works of the Jaques Cousteau Foundation.

Featuring a 44mm case with a slate grey dial bearing Cousteaus signature, with high contrast white and blue indices and totalizers. Engraved on the back is a portrait of Cousteau along with the legend " a tribute to j.y. Cousteau 1910 - 2010.

At its heart beats the calibre 79320, 25 jewel movement running at 28,800 beats per hour, and putting out a power reserve of some 44 hours.

Available now for £7,900 reference number IW376706.
