As we all know very well, fashion is Cyclical, there is pretty much no trend that has not been seen before, at some stage, or season. And most every collection is a re-invention of older trends.
That being said, the way in which trends are re-invented can make them desirable once again. This season the often done perforated jackets are one of the styles for 2011 spring/Summer menswear collections.
Pictured above are two versions, the leather is by Lanvin and has random cut-out perforations accross its body, and the one below is from Bottega Veneta and is made from cotton, and is more regimented in the perforations, but still manages to be quite attractive.
As designers release their full collections, we will see alot more of these, already Bottega have a leather blouson with small perforations, Armani have made one for Le collezioni and Dolce and Gabbana also have one in their mainline collection.
Its a perfect style for summer, breathable and airy, excellent for hot days, we havent seen perforated jackets across several designers for around 10 Years, so its nice to have this style refreshed for 2011.
