FINE magazine editor sated in a press release that 'Rare was convincingly the winner of both our semi-final and finals we have been impressed with the development in the quality of Piper-Hiedsieck wines over the recent years and Rare's performance was in line with that.'

The Piper-Hiedsieck Rare pricing varies widely depending on seller and vintage, from the relatively poor 1999 vintage for about £120 up to the outstanding 1979 vintage which can retail as high as £900 per bottle.  This 2002 vintage is expected to find itself in the market at around £180 per bottle initially, and increasing steadily as stocks deplete.
