Ralph lauren continues to expand their range of own brand watches

Since late 2009 Ralph lauren has ben benefiting from a collaboration with Jaeger Le Coultre to bolster their flagging watch division.  This strategy is one which is followed by several fashion houses, gone are the days of a fashion branded watch being a object of ridicule, with Zegna's movements made by Girard Perregaux, Louis Vuitton's from Gerald Genta, Prada (once upon a time) from IWC, a fashion watch can be something significant.

As with many other areas Mr Lauren moved into, his company is really showing the competition how to do it right.  With new releases each quite different from the last, their releases are beginning to be anticipated by the watch loving world.

This latest Chronograph expands on their sporting range, with a design which is a hybrid between their sporting range, and classic slim range, known as the 'Sporting Chronograph' featuring machine engraved guilloche on the dial and case, which measures 45mm diameter.

The movement is what makes this and the other Ralph lauren watches stand out, rather than merely opting for taking an existing wristwatch and branding it, or ramming an existing movement into a fancy case, they have upped the fashion watch game, by commissioning Jaeger to specifically design movements exclusively for their wrist watch line, elevating them from mere clones to unique pieces.  the movement in question here is the RL750 automatic chronograph.

Available soonish it will be priced around £5000
