New Solar Charger From Alfred dunhill.

New from Alfred Dunhill's Technical gadgets range is this Solar powered charger.  Constructed from Aerospace grade aluminium and plastic, is slips into a Leather case with the finish from Dunhill's 'Chassis' range.  On full charge it will provide a full 30 hours of charge time for any mobile phone or mp3 player from it's micro USB using multiple adapters, or can be charger from a laptop as an alternative source to solar power.

What makes this particular offering from Dunhill interesting is it represents a departure from the gadgets they mostly produce.  Generally in the past Dunhill will simply brand an existing product with their logo, using the absolute minimum of effort and creativity, an example of this is their carbon fibre fingerprint secure wallet, which was in fact produced by iwallet.  This new Solar charger seems unique in the market.  Certainly there are several folding solar charger, but none with this exact design, which means that Dunhill may have actually invested in some R&D time to develop this, and if you were to find this desirable in any way, and were to fork out the required £170 to purchase it, you would't feel quite so cheated as at least you bought something unique to Dunhill, rather than just a branded ordinary product.

Available now in Dunhill's online store or their London stores - sorry houses.

  1. it sounds great- simple and nice design and not that expensive price, but the thing is this, how long can we use the mobile or mp3 by this charger which takes 30hrs to be charged by THE SUN.

  2. im not sure how long this will last, its nice to see dunhill not just branding other peoples products as normal, but these solar chargers are never quite as effective as they first seem.
