Harrod's New shoe Salon has been going strong now for around 2 months, taking the place of the formerly risable Harrods Lower Ground Floor Gift shop, it contained such treats of tat as 'genuine stainless steel Harrods cufflinks' and other similar themed rubbish. All this has been swept away by a brand new, multi million pound renovation, which presents every brand of mens shoes that Harrods carries, with the exception of the very high end mens footwear such asa Loro Piana, Brioni, Kiton, Louis Vuitton and Hermes.
What has not been discussed in very great detail is the so called 'exotics room' just a little to your left as you come of the Egyptian escalator, this dimly lit little area feels more like a goth veranda than an actual room. It contains a wide selection of Shoes and Accesories, some of which are sold on the floor in non exotic form, such as tod's crocodile shoes, magannini Crocodile and Ostrich shoes, and accessories of the same, and others are exclusive to the Exotics room, that is to say they are only available in exotic leather from Harrods in this little space.
What is most exciting about the Exotics room is the presence of non other than Roland Iten, we wrote about his mechanical marvels in the form of the Bugatti limited edition Belt Buckle Here , an example of a belt buckle from his range is pictured above, however he also makes, as we mentioned briefly, cufflinks, card holders and shoe lace caps, all of these are available in harrods exotics room. This is quite a coup for Harrods, and we don't understand why they have not made more of it, Roland Iten makes the single only Mechanical Belt Buckles in the world, and the are both the most complicated and the most expensive, Harrods is now the only retailer in the United Kingdom of these items, we feel a small corner of a dimly lit room is not enough for this really.
We recommend you make you way along to the exotics room, and check out the full selection of weird and wacky Exotic leather shoes and Accessories they have on offer, and enjoy looking at Roland Iten, or even Buying if you are fortunate enough.
