Louis Vuitton's New Artistic Travel Book Range.

Louis Vuitton's body of published works grows ever larger as the years pass, we have no doubt that in a few years there will be a library dedicated solely to the publications from this behemoth of high end luxury.  One area Louis Vuitton has become particularly well known for is that of Travel publications, it produces annually, specifically its City Guides, which are considered both informative, and vital to the modern luxury traveller, so much so that from humble beginnings of a perceived money-spinner, a box of city guides for each continent, they have now given the whole affair a touch of high design, and each guide can be purchased individually.

Alongside these eponymous city guides, Louis Vuitton has occasionally published travel books, such as some back in 2011 by Sofia Coppolla, now, this range has also been formalised, with the launch of a new, artistic range of travel books, four in total, each curated by, and created by an artist, and each celebrating a different city.

First up London, from Japanese artist Natso Seki, created with his style of Pencil, Color and Collage, then, Congolese painter Cheri Samba explores Paris with the Hyper-Pigmented dream like visuals that typify his style, the American artist Daniel Arsham was inspired by Easter Island, and French Illustrator Jean-Phillips Delhomme takes New York as an inspiration and destination.

Louis Vuitton plans to expand this range year after year, in the same way it now does with the city guides, already they have announced that for 2014 Vietnam and Venice are on the table, and it will give collectors who have a love of travel, art and luxury the chance to build a library of beautiful images in their own home, often, or usually, of destination they have visited and enjoyed through the eyes of an artist.

The first four are available now online or in Louis Vuitton stores for £40 each, and there is also a special limited edition numbered and signed version of each edition for £1800 per version.
