Aesop, the New York born skin care brand with ultra minimalist packaging and ironic references such as quotes from famous historical figures, and Maimekko, the Finnish design house behind the infamous Marimekko chart and pioneers of fabric design, have collaborated to produce a Sauna Duet set, which includes a body scrub and body balm.
The body scrub includes fine milled Pumice, and Bamboo stem extract, which apparently has a effective exfoliation effect to cleanse the skin leaving it polished and soft. The body balm contains Vitamins E, F, D and provitamin A, all with botanical extracts, which are said prove both relaxation and moisturization.
With Aesop the packaging is also a feature, and this collaboration certainly stands out in that respect, with Marimekko's "Velamo" print, inspired by moving water from the Finnish epic Kavevela, designed for Marimekko by Maija Louekari. For fans of the pattern it will also be featured on a collection of totes, robes towels and bench covers for Summer 2013.
The Aesop Marimekko Sauna Duet is available now, and costs £50 per set.
