Sperry Re-Launches The Original Boat Shoe As Authentic Originals Collection.

Sperry topsider, the original boat shoe designed by Paul Sperry in 1935, and the product responsible for all current thinking on boat shoes and foot wear worn on the deck of boats, is re-releasing their original range of boat shoes, stripped back and simplified into the "Authentic Original's" collection.

The new classic collection includes at it's most basic level just the classic treated leather shoe with rubber sole and leather lace in six colours, Chalk, Mahogany, Red, Tan, Brown and the eponymous Navy.

The most interesting thing about this collection is, they have relocated the production of the classic shoe back to its original home of Maine, so we are viewing a classic collection of American shoes, the original of the type, which was made where it originated from.

The re-released classic shoe is sold at a slight premium over the standard Sperry shoe, at £85 per pair.
