Bremont have announced their latest limited edition Wristwatch, and, unsurprisingly, it is insipred by and linked to a military endeavour, unsurprisingly, as this is very much the theme of Bremont, Aviation and military antiquity.
The Codebreaker commemorates Bletchley Park's involvement in World War II, and the unlocking of the German Enigma and Lorenz machines, the new watch both honours the spirit of the endeavour, and actually incorporates technology from the period in it's design.
Styled after 1940's officer's watches, it is a flyback chronograph, with a two register display, 24 hour GMT hand, matched scale on Rehaut, and powered by the fully decorated BE-83AR 39 jewel movement, with single pusher press to stop, reset and start the chronograph.
The watch measures 43mm wide, a sensible size, and is available in hardened steel, or rose gold, the true thing that gives it its connection to the Bletchley Park works, is first, the rotor of the Codebreaker, will contain material from an original Enigma machine rotor, and each numbered rotor will carry and unique Enigma code, which the owner may decipher if they so wish. Finally, they have sourced pine from the floor of Hut 6 where the Enigma was cracked, and incorporated this into the crown of the watch. this charming final addition truly encapsulates the spirit of Bletchley Park.
The watch wil be available at the BRemont boutique exclusively, and will cost £13,000 for the steel version, and £30,000 for the Rose gold version, additionally, a portion of the proceeds will go to the maintennance and upkeep of the Bletchley Park estate.
