While the quality of La Prairie's cosmetics is repeatedly challenged by various independant skincare reviews, there is no denying that the wealthy find their claims truthful, and that the packaging is attractive enough for them to continue going from strength to strength.
Now, as if to cater directly to the market of people for whom the packaging is all, La Prairie have collaborated with Baccarat to launch a special edition version of their Skin Caviar Luxe Cream.
Set to be released in Fall/Winter 2015, the special edition will present a 75ml jar of Skin Caviar Luxe Cream set into a Baccarat Crytal caviar server. The server is based on Baccarat's iconic Harcourt 1841 glass, and the La Prairie product can be removed, to allow the vessel to be used as a genuine caviar serving bowl.
As a final touch of luxury, at the base is a cobalt blue cabochon connecting the vessel to the base.
The entire piece consists of 75ml of La Prairie's Skin Caviar Luxe cream, and 940g of Baccarat's fine hand blown crystal, and will be available as numbered editions of 1,500, priced at £1,600 each, and available from October 5th worldwide.
