For 2011 rolex have released a new model of their Rolex Daytona, utilising the 4130 in hose movement, rather than the zenith el primero or other movements that rolex have used in the past for their Daytona models, it represents more of a reissue of the daytona line the a new release.
It is somewhat of a contradiction in terms that even the current Daytona lines in-house 4130 movement is considered less accurate than the zenith movement, hoever from a marketing perspective it is of course more beneficial for them to be able to say that all their movements are in house, making them a true manufacture, and after all marketing is whats responsible for making Rolex the powerhouse it is.
Aside from the in house movement they have updated a couple of cosmetic details, such as ceramic button pushers, a ceramic bezel, and all gold accents and models are everose, rolex's patented gold which alloys gold with platinum to prevent it from fading over time.
The new/old Rolex cosmograph Daytona will be priced at £8000 for steel, and £15,000 for gold accents, and £25,000 for solid gold on a strap, and £35,000 for solid gold on a gold strap.
