Hennessy Cognac release new Paradis Imperial for duty free market, available only in Frankfurt at present.

Frankfurt Airport's Terminal 18 Heinemann Duty Free store saw the launch last week of the latest addition to Hennessy's Cognac range launched there, from July the 6th until the end of August this location will be the world exclusive spot in which to purchase this new spirit.

The new spirit apparently draws upon Hennessy's extensive cellar's of Eau de Vie's, particularly it's older one's, although no definitive age statement has been released to support this statement.  Back-story to support the launch goes, on the 24th of December 1818 the Dowager Empress of Russia sent a letter to the Hennessy Family asking for a particularly special cognac for them, and that this new bottling represent a blend made by their master blender Yann Fillioux, who has based it upon the style of their Paradis range, in order to create something which closely resembles that original order from the Tsarina.

In keeping with the Russian feeling, the Paradis decanter has been slightly redesigned, and a little blinged up, its stopper has been radically altered, and they have added a crystal cabochon, along with a gold plated label, all designed to reming one of the opulent excesses of the 19th century Russian Court.  In additon to which each decanter has been individually numbered to enhance the feeling of uniqueness.

The cost of all this is £1600, however neither LVMH, nor Heinemann have stated whether this represent the world launch of a totally new addition to Hennessy's main collection, or merely another of the often released 'travel' versions which are often released, then simply disappear after selling out of stock
