New for 2011, following the cancellation earlier this Year of the Hermes Africa Porcelain Collections in both Green and Yellow, This new selection of Elegant Limoges Porcelain from Hermes, entitled Blue d' Ailleurs.
Where the Africa Collection took its inspiration from the deserts and wilds of that great continent, this new one uses the calm blue waters of the south sea for its spirit and feel. This distinctly modern take on the age old concept of blue and white tableware, utilises a bold black highlight to pick out the details in the patterns, an interesting technique, which allows it to stay rigidly modern, while utilising seemingly traditional patterns.
The pieces themselves are all reminiscent of many different cultures Porcelain, at once we can feel Ming China, Greek plat ware, Persian blue, Turkish tiling, and the cool blue waters of the south sea washing over us.
All in in all, an excellent new accompainment to Hermes selection of Fine Porcelain, available now.
