Johnnie Walker Diamond Jubilee edition Whisky.

Several large luxury companies are chomping at the bit for the opportunity to release a product to commemorate the Queens Diamond Jubilee this year, with proposed products from the likes of Vertu, Remy Martin, Veuve Clicquot and Asprey set to announced over the next year, however they have all been beaten to the start line by Johnnie Walker, who announced this particular product being in development the middle of last year, and as of now, it is officially available.

Essentially, what we have here is an exceptional Whisky, in a very exceptional bottle.  The Whisky in question is significant because is was distilled in 1952, which is significant as it was the date the queen was first crowned, and it is therefore 60 years old, and has been set down to oak casks from the queens Sandringham Estate, and is therefore  the perfect accompaniment to the Diamond Jubillee.  The age and Rareness of the spirit is one thing, but what sets this offering apart is the packaging, a completely hand made selection of parts including a hand-blown Baccarat Diamond Shaped Decanter, a Hand Engraved Britannia Silver Collar by Hamilton and Inches, a Hand Made Wooden Cabinet made again from Oak from the Sandringham estate by Cabinet makers NEJ Stephenson, and a hand written commemorative artifact book, hand bound by Laura West, Calligrapher by Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen.

Finally, the Hand Engraved collar is adorned with a half-carat diamond, to fully remind the owner that this is a Diamond Jubilee Edition.  And the cost for one of only 61 edition world -wide including the one given to the queen?  A mere £100,000.
