Tumi Bluetooth Smart Keyfob releases the Wireless Leash on the Luxury Market.

New from Tumi, comes this rather unusual little gizmo, we have found it quite difficult to work out what the actual practical use of this device is, however, it's major functions are quite useful, so thats enough alone. The device is a Keyfob and Ring, and contains within it's tiny body a type 2.5 Bluetooth transitter and receiver, microphone, speaker, and sounder.

The tech is from Zomm, a company which created the Wireless leash, and that is what this is, a wireless leash, the idea is, you connect to your mobile phone with bluetooth, and if you go out of range of your mobile it will beep loudly and start flashing, to alert you to the fact.  This element of it's functionality is all well and good, however this also features a one button emergency dialler, and handsfree speakerphone.  Firstly we find it worrying to consider having a emergency dialler in the pocket, in case it is accidentally dialled, and as for a handsfree speaker phone, who would want to use a tiny keyfob for conference calling or hands free calls?  Even the most basic phone has it built in.

These additional features aside, its primary functionality makes it a worthy purchase alone, you might not actually use is as a keyfob, but it could be useful as a lanyard on your handbag or briefcase to alert you when bag and phone separate, in this way it will be more than just a device to let you know you dont have your phone, it can be an anti theft device.

Available now from Tumi for £150
