The march of 007 memorabilia continues ceaselessly on, capitalising on the buzz around James Bond's 50th anniversary, and the Skyfall film about to be released, Bollinger, Bond's day to day champagne of choice, have released a special editon of the the 2002 Grand Annee vintage.
Bollinger was the champagne Flemming refferred to repeatedly in the novels, and aside from the occasional special vintage, such as the Dom Perignon vintage mentioned in Goldfinger, has come to be recognised as the champagne of everyones favourite super spy.
This new release is the first time Bollinger have ever made reference publicly in marketing to the Bond connection, and they have chosen to do so in a grand style, by using the 2002 Grand Annee vintage, considered to be the finest vintage in a decade, with 63% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay, ad of this 82% being Grand Cru, and the remaining 17% being premier Cru.
The packaging is what most special editions are all about, and Bollinger have not disappointed here, with a custom label featuring the 007 legend, and a specially designed box, which has a code lock, enter 007, the case opens, and the bottle is yours to consume.
Priced at a slight premium of £145 over the £110 standard price of the Bollinger Grand Annee 2002 vintage, it is available now.
