Christian Louboutin "palace" sandals.

Louboutin has successfully in the opinions of pretty much every consumer strategist dominated the luxury shoe industry in a way that perhaps only Manolo Blahnik can be said to have equalled, his footwear is so highly prized it has become iconic beyond what is ordinary, by successfully taking action against YSL for using a red sole, they have ensured that nobody can use a red sole except Louboutin, and they can be said to have officially entered that rarified world where it can called a "veblen" good, that it to say a product for which demand for it increases as the price increases.

For Autumn/Winter 2012 they have released the "Palace" sandal, an odd choice, as they seem more suited for summer, however the elegant icy green shade of the shoe means it can fit in quite well to the colder months as the warm.  Featuring Indonesian snake skin, the chunky 5" sole is adorned with Swarovski crystals and spikes, and finished with minimal details the star of the shoe, its heel, is able to stand proud.

Such extreme opulence does not come cheap however, with these shoe which are available now costing £1900 per pair.
