Gucci Originally Registered and launched the Viaggio range back in 2008 to be a small range of luggage for travel, pared down and utilitarian it was intended to take the classic double G design and make it a little more subtle, to allow it to be more versatile for travel and business.
As of this month Gucci have relaunched the Viaggio line with a new logo, pictured above, a totally new range of luggage similar to the original but even more pared down and simplistic, and most significant of all a capsule clothing range of shoes and garments for Men and Women specifically designed for travel, garments which are comfortable, elegant, and most importantly anti wrinkle for those long and annoying plane journeys.
Prices range from relatively keen to quite expensive. The foot wear is reasonable, including one Mens boot, and two Women's shoes, priced at £400 and £2500 respectively, both Men's and Women's clothing is priced at the same level as mainline Gucci, with outerwear pieces ranging from £800 to £1500 for technical garments, and trousers for £180 to £1500, and luggage and accessories has the biggest variations, with a range of nylon and leather detail bags for only between £300 and £600 each, and a "top" range of bags in technical fabrics or leather from between £900 and £3000 each.
The range s currently available only online and in the U.S., and colourways in-store are black only, with the beige webbing that formerly typified the Viaggio range now an on-line exclusive limited edition. There will be a worldwide roll out by the 2013 Cruise season, so expect to see in stores by then if you want to try before you buy.
