The plans for the viewing platform of the Shard have been revealed for some time now, as far back as July 2012 it was known that rather than merely being a top floor available to visit ala some other attractions, it will be a grand show, a three floor affair, occupying the 68th, to 72nd floors, at a height of 800 feet or 244 metres, in what is the current tallest building in the European Union.
Level 72 is partially open, with the "shards" of glass that gave the building its name being visible, there is no limit on the amount of time you can stay at the attraction, only that it opens at 9am, and closes at 10pm, tickets cost £24.95 for adults booked in advance, and £29.95 if bought on the day, £18.95 for children, or £15.95 if booked in advance, infants from 0 - 3 years of age may enter free.
It will be open officially on the 1st of February 2013, however if you plan on visiting at this time, ior any other time up until the end of March 2013, at time of writing you will be sorely disappointed, the attraction is booked solid until that time. We advise booking now to avoid further disappointment for mid April 2013.
