Louis Roederer Cristal Philippe Di Meo Jeroboam.

Ever Louis Roederer Managing Director Frederick Rouzaud made his controversial statement in response to the question posed by the Economist in a 2006 interview, whether associations with rap stars could affect the marques image, and his response of "That's a good question, but what can we do?", was interpreted as overt racism by rap stars, the brand has felt some affect on its sales, Jay Z most publicly of all stated he would never drink Cristal again, nor sell it in any of his clubs, and has since gone on to champion the Cattier "Ace of Spades".

However, the brand still continues strong, and this latest collaboration with Philipe di Meo, designer and artist, has borne some very exclusive and expensive fruit, that of an ultra high end Cristal 2002 Jeroboam bottle.  The amazing piece redesigns the classic Cristal bottle by encasing in in a lattice work cage of 24- carat gold, a painstaking process which takes four days per bottle, and requires the hand-working of no less than two master goldsmiths.

Each bottle costs £18,000, as must be ordered, if this interests you, get in touch with your nearest high end drinks retailer.
