Saint Louis, the glass and crystal manufacture from Saint-Louis-Les -Bitche, France's oldest glassmaker, and with roots dating back to 1586, one of Europe's oldest, have a produced a range of bedside carafe and glas sets for the home, each designed by either a different contemporary designer or inspired by Saint Louis's history, as carafes are very much the hallmark of the glassmaker, pictured here is the selection, with a brief description and pricing.
First up is the L'Aube, designed by Carsten Fell,with a hand engraved carafe, and gilded glass, the glass in intended to represent the rising sun, as the word L'Aube, means dawn in French, this is priced at £465.
Next up is the Le reve, designed by sisters Cecile and Gabrielle Grimaldi, named after the French word for the dream, the hand cut, hand engraved carafe and matching glass follows the design of organic shapes of plants, and features smoky faded glass. It is priced at £775.
The La Celeste Carafe was designed by the workshops of Saint Louis themselves, and is named after a church in the village of Saint Louis, the carafe and glass have a matching, playful design, which interplays light and form to allow the elegant carafe to cast shadows of light in the morning sun. Priced at £420.
Finally the L'Insomnie, designed again by the Grimaldi sisters, and named after the sleeping condition of Insomnia, its hand cut and hand engraved design is inspired by the desire to produce a contemporary yet elegant carafe, which could be at home in a modern home as a classic one. The carafe is Priced at £420.
