With this exceptional limited series, S.T. Dupont pays tribute to that most famous and mythical of trains, the ORIENT EXPRESS.
Inaugurated in 1883 under the name of "Express of East", it connects Paris to Constantinople, serving several European capitals along the way. It is an emblem of the industrial revolution, but has also become a symbol of freedom and modernity.
This famous train has inspired numerous writers, such as Agatha Christie, Paul Morand or Paul Valéry, and has also been used as the backdrop for a host of movies.
From the moment he opened his workshop in 1872, S.T. Dupont manufactured prestigious leather pieces for eminent figures of the time.
In the 1920s, the Orient Express became the preferred transport of Europe’s crowned heads, aristocrats and celebrities, and was dubbed"The Train of Kings, the King of Trains".
The history and richness of these two brands have now been brought together in this "S.T.DUPONT ORIENT-EXPRESS" limited edition, via an invitation to take a journey in this fabulously luxurious environment.
ORIENT-EXPRESS Diamond Collection
S.T. Dupont has created the embodiment of ultimate luxury with this exceptional writing set representing the mythical train and an exclusive lighter both in blue and white lacquer with white solid gold finishes.
All decorative elements of the ORIENT-EXPRESS collection pay homage to the mythical train: the colors of the carriages, its handles or chassis, the stained glass window, the chimney and even the ORIENT-EXPRESS typography signature.
The central medallion of the lighter is made in solid white gold and set with 129 white diamonds of 1.46 carats.
Equipped with a 18-carats white-gold nib, the fountain pen is decorated with 8 pieces of white mother of pearl inlay.
Inspired by the Orient Express chimney, the solid white-gold clip of the fountain pen carries 71 white diamonds.
The Diamond Collection is numbered out of 28 pieces throughout the world.
ORIENT-EXPRESS Prestige Collection
The Prestige Collection is composed of a writing set, a Line 2 lighter and cufflinks.
The midnight blue and white lacquers, enhanced with yellow gold, evoke the majestic colours of the carriages, and the added parts are finely gilded, subtly recalling the train’s handles or its chassis.
The lighter’s central medallion echoes the stained-glass window visible from outside the train; it is highlighted by four pieces of white mother-of-pearl surrounding an intense blue spinel, a rare gemstone renowned for its brightness and hardness.
The clip of the pen evokes the chimney of the Orient-Express, also overhung by a blue spinel.
Each piece is finely engraved with the words "Orient-Express".
The Prestige collection is numbered out of 1883, in reference to the train’s year of inauguration.
An exclusive collector reflecting the S.T. Dupont original know-how, master trunk maker, is proposed with an attaché case in blue and white leather containing the whole Orient-Express Prestige collection.
This Prestige Collector is numbered out of only 83 pieces worldwide.
ORIENT-EXPRESS Prenium Collection
The decoration of the Premium-Collection in blue lacquer with silver powder with platinum finishes resume the same inspirations of the mythic train: Finest engravings on each side of the lighter, the nib set of the pen and the nib itself recall the rivets of carriages, the old wheels and the stained glass window. The lighter’s central medallion carries a white mother-of pearl inlay.
Composed of pens, a lighter and cufflinks, the Premium Collection is edited in 1883 pieces.
