Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream Store Opens In Bape Store's Location.

As Bape lovers of Europe probably already know, February 15th 2014 was a sad day for all of them.  It marked the closure of the Bape London store, which had been running for some 11 years, with exclusive London only collaborations abound, one as recently as just a month before it's closure.

In a wider sense, this is yet another blow for Nigo, whose LA store closed some 4 years ago, and whose New York store was rumoured to be closing also.  However, onwards an upwards.  Just 4 days after the closure of Bape, the location re-opened as Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream.

This is understandable, the James Street location has become a mecca for those seeking the Hip Hop style that typifies Bape.  To imagine a different kind of store in this spot is, well, unimaginable.  And speaking of imagination, very little has been applied in the re-branding of the store.  The Bape neon's have simply been removed, and replaced on one side with Ice Cream, and the other with Bilionaire Boys Club.  The theme is continued inside, with on the left side white, grey and red colouring, and on the right side an intergalactic space theme, and the corresponding products from each brand in each area.

So thats all she wrote for Bape in the UK at present.  We doubt you will be seeing any Bape store anytime soon.  So you need to go online for your European Bape fix, to eu.bape.com.  And if you visit 04 Upper James Street, you can get some BBC or Ice Cream clobber.
