We bemoaned the BAPE store closure just two months ago, only to be slightly encouraged by Nigo's other offerings, BBC and Ice cream taking over the same space. However, we still had a monkey shaped hole in our hearts. With no Europe Bape store, where could we find our favourite luxury street wear brand?
Now that question has been answered. Albeit with lots of other questions. From nowhere, in Selfridges Oxford Street, BAPE have taken up residence, with a fairly large space, retailing hats, sweats, jackets, and tees. They have even launched a special "Busy Works" London collection, the logo for which is shown above. Comprising all the normal BAPE elements, this is sure to be a sell out success.
The questions we are left asking are; Why was this not annaounced in advance? Apparently this space has been open since March 29th. Also, is it a pop up? Or a permanent store? Bloggers seem to be divided on this. The space appears permanent, but you never know with BAPE. Could be here today gone tomorrow.
We suggest, treat it like a pop-up store, and get over there fast, before it closes. After all, if it does, you miss the chance to get the new collection. And will also miss the chance to shop for BAPE until the next secret, unnanounced, pop-up opens.
