Not many people seem aware of the fact, strangely as Burberry take great pains to advertise the service on their site, but pretty much since inception the brand has offered the opportunity for its customers to have personalised, tailor made versions of its products. For the last 3 years. it has been doing a stripped down version of this on the site specifically for its trench coats. This allows customers the opportunity to choose colours, and add initials, but of course stops short of a full bespoke service.
Now, for its online portal Burberry are also adding the chance to add personalised details to scarves. The service allows up to three initials to be added to a product, and customisable products currently include heritage scarves and ponchos.
The service will be unveiled fully in September, just in time for winter. Expect a small premium for adding initials, but as with the other customising options, no more than 5% - 10%.
