The luxury smartwatches sported by Tom Cruise in Minority Report are a step closer. Montblanc have announced a range of watches called the TimeWalker Urban Speed eStrap watches. Rather than the integrated luxury seen in the aforementioned science fiction flick, these go a slightly different way.
A traditional analougue luxury watch on the surface, the interchangeable strap has mounted upon it a eSmart module, which connects via bluetooth to Andriod, or iOS devices, all contained within a stainless steel box.
The module allows for activity tracking, social media notifications, calendar notifications, and messages and call notifications. All of which is visible on the display, or accessible from an app. This module will then be charged every five days, and then attached back onto the revolutionary carbon treated leather strap.
Prices are, £2,300 for the automatic standard, £3,300 for the UTC version, £4,000 for the Chronograph model, and the E-strap alone costs £300. All of which will be available from Montblanc retailers from the end of March 2015.
