Lecia have announced their latest limited edition camera kit. The Leica M-P (Typ 240) Lenny Kravitz edition. For those who are confused as to why Leica would attach its name to a rock musician rather than say, a photographer, should bear in mind that Kravitz is in fact an avid photographer. He has only recently published a new photography book called "flash" and is a Leica enthusiast and user.
Clearly that is enough, at least for Leica, for them to release a limited edition camera set. The set will incorporate a Leica M-P (typ 240) camera, a 35 f/2 ASPH and 50 f/1.4 ASPH lens, a special "used" look treatment to the camera, and each of the numbered editions of the 120 will come presented in a black leather briefcase.
The only odd thing about this announcement is the lack of pricing, or of a release date. Clearly Leica feel such irrelevant details do not matter to the devoted Leica masses. After all, with veblen goods like Leica, if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it.
