Gosha Rubchinskiy is one of the modern enfant terrible Russian designers tearing up the fashion scene with their irreverant ironic designs. What not many people know however, is that his label is a sub-division of Comme Des Garcons. If this is borne firmly in mind, the fact that a Gosha Rubchinskiy fragrance is about to be released is hardly a big surprise, fragrances being one of Comme Des Garcons biggest moneymakers.
Whether or not the decision to release a fragrance was Gosha's or not, he has certainly managed to save face on the release, calling it his "new single". The unisex fragrance has been developed by Alexis Dadier, and has accents of tar and rubber, to evoke the skateboarding lifestyle so dear to Gosha.
Notes of angelica, buchu flower, mandarin seed, chamomile, styrax, vetiver and patchouli are present, all bound together to create an androgynous mix.
Out at Dover Street Market London on October 8, then the rest of the world will roll out slowly worldwide, each bottle will cost £75.
