A pearl necklace is unquestionably a sign of establishment elegance. No image of an upper-middle class family unit would be complete without the matriarch and her debutante daughter wearing a string of matching pearls, and few brands have the cachet within the world of pearls that Mikimoto possess. However, this comes with the reality that this image is rather staid, and in need of an update.
Made from White South Sea or Ayoya Mikimoto pearls combined with CDG logos in sterling silver, bold chains and name plate details, these are decidedly modern, and sure to turn the heads of the young who desire something that isn't mummy's pearl necklace.
Available mid-February from Mikimoto Ginza, CDG and Dover Street Market stores internationally, prices range from £2,500 to £35,000.
