Nespresso Machine's Not Fancy Enough. Try the Morning Machine.

Nespresso is a luxury coffee brand.  this may be a difficult thing to imagine, they are becoming fairly ubiquitous these days, and it's extremely easy to pick one up in places as diverse as a local Tesco supermarket, but the fact remains that a £100 plus machine with capsules that mean each cup costs between 20p and £1.50 depending on the blend is a luxury product.  And this is shown by the manner they present themselves.  George Clooney advertising aside, the company make every effort to ensure they exude exclusivity with their "Nespresso Club", and a selection of "high end" machines going for upwards of £1,000.

However for some this is not nearly exclusive, or choice, enough.  Enter the new trend of high-end specialised Nespresso machines which attempt to elevate an already luxury product to a new level of sybarism.  This trend is particularly popular in Singapore, where a large number of ultra pricy Nespresso blends can be found.  And from a company which makes a selection of such coffee pods comes a new machine designed to tailor make the process to each pod they produce.

The brand here is Morning, or MORNING, and they partner with small batch roasters and producers to make some pretty special blends in their Nespresso pods, along with drip bags if you're so incliuned.  the Morning Machine does exactly as described, it allows using the dial on the front users to select the type of pod, or type of recipe, they prefer, and the machine will adjust the pressure, temperature and length of pour, to ensure a tailor made experience.

Costing £275 per machine, plus import taxes from Singapore, the machine to us seems like a lazy persons tool for customising coffee.  As all Nespresso machines allow users to choose a pour length, and temperature variation makes little difference at the level used here, any user can simply pay closer attention to their machine for the same result.

The Morning Machine does however look quite smart, and the cost is not a huge premium over that of other Nespresso machines, so it wouldn’t be a total waste of money.
