Consumers of Apple products are likely familiar with the controversy, and disdain, Apple's Aipod Max case was subject to upon release. With the Airpods Max we found a product positioned firmly at the luxury end of the headphones market, which failed to supply anything more substantial than a flimsy card that in fact felt more like cardboard than the leather, or in the case of Bang Olufsen's offerings aluminium, other high end audio manufacturers provided.
We love products which offer alternatives, but we are even more enthusiastic when the alternatives are faintly ridiculous, or indeed laughable, as Gucci's offering in collaboration with Supreme is.
What we're presented with here is a 21cm x 14cm x 3.5cm Gucci canvas and brown leather case, with gold toned hardware, a neoprene lining branded with Supreme text, and Gucci red and green webbing, along with a brown leather shoulder strap.
Aside from the ludicrous idea of carrying a headphone pouch as a shoulder bag, we have the most glaring and obvious issue with this, which is it in no way rectifies the main objection to the supplied with the Airpod Max version. We refer to here the fact this is entirely open, and therefore incapable of protecting the headphones from dust, dirt, water ingress, or any other possible mishaps such as C
colission.
In the event you are minded to purchase it, or are merely curious, this will set you back £645. or $1,000.
