Bulgari have been releasing Serpenti Wristwatches for some 10 years now, and have produced several different versions and lengths, including a version in white ceramic and a fully pave encrusted version that was firmly in the category of Haute Joalerrie.
They have not refreshed the model since then, aside from the various different materials and lengths, however, new for 2011, Bugari is completely reworking the design and it looks it's most serpentine since inception.
With a length than can be customised to your specification, it can be up to 5 metres maximum, at which length it would pretty much reach most womens elbows. In keeping with this oversized flavour they have produced versions in either steel, white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, and Pave diamond dials featured .
Finally the face of the watch also has a much more snake like look, shaped like the head of a serpent. The movement has been kept as a quartz swiss hour and minute hand only affair, and no information is yet available on the specifics of the engine, most likely an ETA movement as Bulgari always used to use before they started stepping up to the Horological plate so to speak. But lets be honest this is designed to be a beautiful piece of Jewellery with the additional functionality of a Watch rather than the other way round.
Pricing is not available at this point, however assuming the materials used and Bulgari's former Serpenti pricing, and also considering the fact it can be customized from steel at 15" in length up to solid gold 5 metres long with a Pave dial, the price will most likely be starting from around a £1000 up to hundreds of thousands.
