New for 2011 Hublot, the modern brand that has brought us various different iterations of ceramic watches, have produced for the first time an entirely ceramic wrist-watch with this the new Big bang black caviar.
Utilizing the HUB112 automatic movement which features a power reserve of 42 hours, as well as the entirely ceramic body, it also features a dual rubber core and alligator cover strap for maximum comfort.
Hublot announced this watch at Basel, and released the press pack with the following spiel -
“Made entirely from ceramic (the ideal material for a watch: 30% lighter than steel, 100% scratchproof, 100% anti-allergenic, 100% unalterable and rust-proof), including the crown and dial (which is a first for Hublot), the Big Bang Black Caviar sports a unique design directly inspired by the famous One Million $ Black Caviar. Bedecked in uniform shades of black under the concept of “invisible visibility”, and with its reliefs designed, cut, bevelled and polished like the baguette black diamonds of its big sister, it comes in a diameter of 41 mm and is equipped with the automatic mechanical movement HUB1112. This watch features a date window at 3 o’clock and is mounted on a brilliant black “glossy” alligator strap stitched on black rubber, as always with Hublot, to provide exceptional comfort, flexibility and robustness. 42-hour power reserve, and water resistant to 10 bar (100 meters). “
